1. Introduction

Welcome to FriendSift (“we”, “our”, “us”). The Platform is owned and operated by The Platinum-Williams Company Limited, registered in England and Wales (Company Number: 11920333) with a registered office at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, England, W1W 5PF. VAT Registration Number: GB403433146. FriendSift is a photo-free, values-first matching service designed to foster deep friendships and “Life Circles”. By accessing our platform, you agree to these Terms.

2. Account Creation & Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old. We reserve the right to terminate accounts of suspected minors immediately.
  • We utilise a “Single Sign-On” process via Google or Apple for secure authentication.

3. Pricing, Payments & Refunds

  • We charge £8.99 per person for a Best Friend Match, and £8.99 per person for a Friendship Circle.
  • The Handshake Guarantee: Payments are processed securely via Stripe using an “Authorise & Capture” method. We hold £8.99 as an authorisation and only capture the payment when a match is mutually confirmed. If the match is not mutual, the authorisation is released.
  • Refund Policy: Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period. However, by confirming a match and triggering the payment capture, you consent to the immediate delivery of the digital service (the match/group invite). You acknowledge that once the match is delivered, you lose your right to cancel or request a refund for that specific transaction.

4. WhatsApp “Circle” Groups

  • If you opt into a Friendship Circle, you will be invited to a WhatsApp group via an invite link (facilitated by Whapi.cloud).
  • Our automated “System Admin” will invite you and up to three other members, provide a single AI-generated icebreaker, and then promote all users to Admins.
  • FriendSift does not monitor, moderate, or take responsibility for the chat content once the group is handed over to the user Admins.

5. User Conduct & Assumption of Risk

  • FriendSift facilitates offline friendships. We do not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification, or vet users.
  • You are solely responsible for your interactions. Always exercise caution, meet in public places, and trust your instincts.
  • We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, abuse, or using the platform for dating, business networking, or solicitation.

6. User-Generated Content & AI Processing

  • By submitting answers to our questionnaire, you grant us a license to process your text using Artificial Intelligence (Gemini AI) to generate your “Sift Bio” and calculate match percentages.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, The Platinum-Williams Company Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Platform or your offline interactions with other users.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
